Q & A

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a health condition in men. It is when you are unable to hold a proper erection while having sex. This is also known as impotence. The main cause is the narrowing of the arteries that take blood to the penis. If you can successfully gain an erection the majority of times you are aroused, you should not be worried if you were to experience a one-off spell of ED. Most men will face or will have faced a moment in which they are unable to gain an erection when needed. This can be a temporary condition due to stress, tiredness, or inebriation. However, if you are suffering from other major ED conditions, do not worry. ED is a treatable health condition, most commonly by a medicine taken before sex.

Cialis treats erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It is available in the tablet form. Cialis helps to prevent the action of the chemical phosphodiesterase type-5 already present in the body. This results in widening of the blood vessels and increases the blood flow into the penis. Hence, you can maintain an erection. Tadalafil is another brand of Cialis.

Can I still drink alcohol?

Erectile dysfunction can be exacerbated by alcohol, so it is not recommended to drink excessive amounts while taking Cialis.

Will I still be able to drive?

In most cases, this treatment should not cause any interaction which specifically impairs the user’s ability to drive. But, where any side effects which may affect your driving occur, you should avoid doing so and immediately speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

How should I store it?

Do not store this treatment above 30°C. Keep Cialis tablets in their original packaging. This will make them easily identifiable, and help to protect them from external damage, light and moisture.

Am I allergic to anything in the medicine?

Cialis tablets contain the active ingredient tadalafil. Do not take the medicine if you are allergic to this, or any other ingredients present in this medicine, which include:

Lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium, hydroxypropylcellulose, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium laurilsulfate, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, triacetin, titanium dioxide E171, iron oxide yellow E172 and talc.

Is it available over-the-counter?

No. Cialis is a POM – prescription only medicine – so you can only buy it in the UK with a valid prescription from a doctor.

Any pharmacy trading online offering to sell you a cheap Cialis alternative or ED tablets without a prescription is operating outside the law and should not be trusted.

Whenever you buy online check for the GPhC logo, and click through to make sure the pharmacy you're using is registered.
