Q & A

Rosacea is also known as Acne Rosacea. It is a skin condition which mostly affects your face, sometimes including the neck, chest, and ears. It is usually seen in middle-aged people. Symptoms may appear during the early 20s; but usually, they are seen in 30-60 years’ age group. Women suffer more than men but their symptoms are less severe than men’s. Acne Rosacea is not contagious and cannot spread from one person to another. Symptoms of this condition are mild and antibiotics usually work on them. However, if you have an eye problem, see a doctor immediately as it could be serious. Acne Rosacea is not painful or itchy. But some infected people may experience a burning sensation over the affected area. It can be distressing but no serious complications are known.

Differin is available as cream and gel. It is used to treat mild-to-moderate acne. It contains an active substance known as adapalene which has an anti-inflammatory effect. Adapalene works on reducing soreness and irritation caused due to acne. It also helps to unblock the pores and treats the blackheads & whiteheads. Adapalene is effective if used early on acne. It is not recommended for children under 12.
