Q & A

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a health condition in men. It is when you are unable to hold a proper erection while having sex. This is also known as impotence. The main cause is the narrowing of the arteries that take blood to the penis. If you can successfully gain an erection the majority of times you are aroused, you should not be worried if you were to experience a one-off spell of ED. Most men will face or will have faced a moment in which they are unable to gain an erection when needed. This can be a temporary condition due to stress, tiredness, or inebriation. However, if you are suffering from other major ED conditions, do not worry. ED is a treatable health condition, most commonly by a medicine taken before sex.

Sildenafil treats erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It helps to prevent the action of the chemical phosphodiesterase type-5 already present in the body. This results in widening of the blood vessels and increases the blood flow into the penis. Hence, you can maintain an erection. Sildenafil is available in tablets and chewable tablets. It is also known as Nipatra, Viagra, and Vizarsin.

Can I still drink alcohol?

We advise against it, as alcohol may reduce the effectiveness of this medicine, and can be a contributory factor in the cause of erectile dysfunction.

Will I still be able to drive?

The treatment should not directly affect your capacity to drive. But if you experience any adverse effects which could affect your judgment or motor functions, you should avoid driving or operating heavy machinery.

How should I store it?

The tablets needs to be kept at room temperature in a dry environment. Keep them sealed in their respective blister packs until you intend to take them.

Am I allergic to anything in the medicine?

As well as the active ingredient sildenafil citrate, sildenafil tablets contain microcrystalline cellulose, calcium hydrogen phosphate (anhydrous), croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, lactose, triacetin and titanium dioxide (E171).

If you are allergic to any of these elements, do not use this treatment.

Is it available over-the-counter?

No. You will need a prescription from a practising doctor to buy Viagra or buy Sildenafil. You can obtain one by filling out our medical survey, which will be checked by one of our GMC-registered general practitioners.

Is it right for me?

It's important to ensure that this medicine is suitable for you before use; particularly if you haven't used it before.

We advise men who haven't used this particular ED treatment before to select the lowest dose if they're ordering with us, or to see their doctor in person to discuss the treatment further.

To complete your purchase, take our questionnaire. Once completed, a registered doctor will review your answers and issue a prescription, if suitable. This prescription will be sent to our practising pharmacy who will dispense your treatment. Orders are shipped by secure next-day courier.
